periodic reports.
Privacy Policy
Sterlite Software USA, Inc.’s privacy policy is driven by
the above guiding principle. In any society one can not have privacy
without 'authentication' where there is a need for legitimate transactions.
The apparent paradox is addressed by Sterlite Software USA, Inc..
using appropriate technology, processes and people.
The phenomenal growth of Internet and on-line services has brought
great concern for consumers and business alike about what information
is collected about them and who is circulating or selling the information
to whom (either with or without the consent).Sterlite Software USA,
Inc. distinguishes the difference between Content Owners and Record
Owners. This is similar to your medical records where the individual
is the owner of the medical contents but your healthcare provider
owns the records. Sterlite Software USA, Inc. has developed technologies,
policies and procedures that will enable users (either consumers
or businesses) complete control and tracking of how some ones information
is gathered, stored, used, etc. These will not only lay the road
map to reach our guiding conviction on privacy but will revolutionize
how the Internet is going to be used.
The following statement is created in order to demonstrate our
commitment to the privacy our web site visitors. The following discloses
the information gathering and dissemination practices of the Sterlite
Software USA, Inc. website.
Authentication – we do any business transaction
only if we are reasonably convinced about the authenticity of the
party that we are interacting with. We reserve the right to cancel
the transactions with whom we have been transacting with retroeffect
if we discover or sense any authentication problems during or after
the start of any transaction(s). What is an acceptable authetication
for us? It depends on the type of transaction and we reserve our
right to accept only those that suit our requirements.

1. we reserve the right to do business with those who block their
telephone number by whatever means (by omission or comission) from
appearing on a 'caller id' instrument.
2. we reserve the right to do business with P.O.Box number addresses.,
etc.
End user PC – we use your IP address to
help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our web
site. Your IP address is also used to gather broad demographic information,
such as determining how many of our visitors are from outside of
Illinois or USA. We may also perform IP lookups to determine which
domain you are coming from (i.e. yourcompany.com, etc.) to more
accurately gauge our users’ demographics. Sterlite Software
USA, Inc. does not extract any personal information (e.g. email
addresses or names) that may be contained in a web browser’s
user preference file. IP address is a numeric code (e.g. 127.0.0.1)
that identifies your computer on a network or the Internet.
Cookies – our site may use cookies to track
the length of time you spend on our site, or to store frequently
used user information to personalize your online preferences. A
cookie is a small file placed by a Web site on your computer’s
hard drive. This file has no information about you personally, but
identifies your computer when you return to our site. A cookie placed
by a particular Web site can only be accessed by that same web site,
and contains only information volunteered by the user, such as your
name or company name, or innocuous user identification number or
domain address.
Security – Sterlite Software USA, Inc. receives
information via online applications. Many of these applications
ask for sensitive data and require industry standard Secure Socket
Layer (SSL) encrypted browsers. We will be using 128-bit encryption,
the most powerful available, to protect transmissions over the Internet.
Registration Forms – Our site is designed
to require you to complete a registration form only if you are interested
in obtaining additional information or products from us. Therefore,
registration forms may require you to give us contact information
like your name, email, phone and fax numbers and postal address.
Sterlite Software USA, Inc. is not engaged in the practice of selling
or distributing contact information to other companies. Contact
information from the registration is used to let users download
articles, etc. and to send requested product information and promotional
material to the prospects. Sometimes a third party fulfillment house
that requires access to the information on registration forms in
order to send you requested materials handles the mailings. In addition,
contact information is sometimes shared with Sterlite Software USA,
Inc. authorized value added resellers who are designated by Sterlite
Software USA, Inc. to follow up with the prospective customer.
Supplementation of Information – Sometimes, at Sterlite Software
USA, Inc.’ s discretion, this site authenticates and/or supplements
the information that you provide with information that is received
from third parties. This is to ensure the reliability of the information
and to protect legitimate customers and inquirers. For instance,
if accurate zip codes are received, we will use third party software
to fix them.
Email – Email recipients are made aware
of how they got on a mailing list
We use rented email lists only if the list specifically is an ‘opt-in’
list; i.e. lists of people who have explicitly agreed to receive
email messages from third parties.
We do send email to email addresses we have acquired via prospect
lists from other companies, e.g. Partner co-marketing efforts; however
the following conditions must be met: (a) we acknowledge in the
email message how the recipient got on the list (e.g., as an attendee
at the recent ‘eSpeed’ event), (b) we provide an easy
way to recipients to opt out of future emails from us.
|
|
|
For email addresses that we obtain via marketing events such as
web casting, internet bazaars and more traditional trade shows and
expos, we assume that people providing their email addresses are
opting in to email messages from us; therefore we do not include
an email opt in mechanism when collecting event leads.
We limit use of any given email address to maximum of one message
every two weeks. For customer or client opted requests that limit
obviously does not apply.
We never broadcast email messages for outside parties; in other
words, we do not send non-Sterlite Software USA, Inc. related material
to our email lists.
We never release any email addresses of customers or prospects
to anyone outside of Sterlite Software USA, Inc. to use in any way,
except to Sterlite Software USA, Inc. Channel Partners for the purpose
of following up to provide product and/or service as requested by
the inquirer.
We never under any circumstances send email to people who have
opted out using the opt-out mechanism in email messages, have opted
out using the form posted on our web site, or have contacted the
webmaster or anyone else at Sterlite Software USA, Inc. asking we
not send them any more email.
Links – Sterlite Software USA, Inc. is not
responsible for the privacy and/or security policies or the contents
of any Web sites that are linked from this site.
Changes to Privacy Policy – if we decide
to change our privacy and security policies, we will post these
changes so that you are aware of what information we collect, how
we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it. Modified
policies are effective upon posting of them on to this Web site.
